From me to you, I want you to know that I appreciate you for your readership, friendships (where applicable), and for all the support and kind words over the years. I am coming off having COVID over Christmas last week and, having gone through that, I am yet again reminded of my own mortality. It’s important to tell our people that we care and appreciate them.
And so, my people, happy holidays to you and yours!
Bonus Fun Fact: The color of the Sun is white, not yellow, as many elementary school drawings may depict. As a rule, elementary school drawings should not be trusted as scientific fact.
When someone asks you to pick the color of the sun, you would likely choose something resembling yellow. That’s how we perceive it on Earth, a kind of dusty-yellow color, but that’s because the color has been changed by our atmosphere (and let’s not even touch how things look during sunrise and sunset). If you were to view the Sun from space, however, you would see that it’s full-on white.
This came up during a rousing game of Hues and Clues ahead of COVID Christmas. This is a game where a player gives clues to steer the other players toward making guesses at the target color by placing markers on a spectrum. Incidentally, the game board does not feature the color white.
