Bonus Fun Fact: There’s a helicopter on Mars, and has been for more than two years. The Ingenuity helicopter was launched with the Perseverance Rover and took its first Mars flight on April 19, 2021. NASA uses the Ingenuity helicopter to scout routes for the Perseverance Rover, as well as other sciency stuff. Ingenuity is the first aircraft to make a powered, controlled flight on another planet.
