Quad thumbs

Whew. The move is over and we are (more or less) settled into our apartment, like sardines in a cozy 2-bedroom can. As I try to return to my regularly scheduled life, I bring you a fun fact that has nothing to do with Minnesota, moving, or sardines.

Bonus Fun Fact: Koalas have two opposable thumbs — not two total like humans, two on each hand. Yes, you can double-check the math. Koalas have four thumbs. Sure, they still have five digits per hand but, instead of four fingers and a thumb, they have three fingers and two thumbs. Koalas spend much of their lives in eucalyptus trees, feasting upon the succulent plant flesh. The double-thumbs is an adaptation to help navigate these slick-barked trees.
