Bonus Fun Fact: Dogs shed more when they’re stressed.
If you have ever met a dog, you probably know that they can often get stressed or anxious very easily. I have often wondered why the back seat of my car fills up with dog fluff on any doggie road trip. Surely they don’t shed that much by default, right? If that was the case, they would slowly generate a pile of fur wherever they happen to be.
No, it turns out increased shedding can be caused by stress hormones, especially adrenaline. When dogs are stressed, their adrenaline levels increase, which causes more shedding. The fur just flies off them. Literally. It goes right in my coffee every time!
