Bonus Fun Fact: Caffeine is toxic to insects. I dislike general statements like that, as I’m sure there are exceptions. On the whole though, it seems caffeine is very bad for bugs. Exposure can cause all sorts of neurological and reproductive problems. And also, of course, death. Scientists believe caffeine evolved in plants to serve as a natural insecticide.

This puts a different perspective on your morning cup of joe, doesn’t it?
