Humans are sensitive to temperature. You can feel when objects or the air is hot or cold. We can also feel as temperature changes. Have you ever entered your house, found it to be a bit warm, and turned on the air conditioning? It felt nice didn’t it? That wasn’t just your imagination, you could actually feel the air temperature dropping.
Bonus Fun Fact: Humans can detect decreases in temperature of as little as 0.2 degrees Fahrenheit. Wild huh? I had always heard it was one degree flat, but it turns out we are much more sensitive. That’s for decreasing temperature but, it turns out we are not as sensitive when the temperature increases. We can only detect a 0.4 degrees change when the temperature is getting hotter.
Having learned this I feel I can, in good conscience, complain about being hot more confidently. I really hate being hot.
