I did a couple of meetings in the field this week and ended up getting quite cold. I was even wearing overalls and double-socks and still my footsies were frigid. In reality, it was only in the high-20’s and low-30’s Fahrenheit which, by Iowa standards, is a pretty warm winter. Maybe I’m just not built for the cold?
Bonus Fun Fact: The coldest recorded temperature in Iowa was -47 degrees Fahrenheit (freedom units) on February 3rd, 1996, in the town of Elkader in northeast Iowa.
Bonus Bonus Fun Fact: The coldest recorded temperature in the world was -128.6 °F at the Vostok Station in Antarctica on July 21st, 1983. That’s dang cold (and also the dead of winter down there).
