That’s what she NSAID

This week is a more personal fun fact (and maybe a bit of oversharing).

Bonus Fun Fact: It turns out that when you take a lot of NSAIDs (that’s non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), it can cause all sorts of problems with your digestive system. Here’s a quick story, for background. Earlier this summer, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, which is an inflammatory bowel disease that causes all sorts of unpleasantness. That diagnosis actually turned out to be wrong. After some further diagnostics (i.e. colon exploration of the medical variety), it was found that I don’t have Crohn’s disease. Instead, my symptoms were being caused by all the Excedrin I had been taking for my chronic headaches! So, really, this fun fact is just to share the good news with you that I don’t have a horrible bowel disease, but also a warning that taking too many NSAIDs (like Ibuprofen or Excedrin) can wreak havoc on your person.
